Halo,

Salam kenal dari kota Malang, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Namaku Haryo Bagus Handoko, aku adalah seorang penulis dan jurnalis lepas untuk berbagai media cetak dan internet di Indonesia. Aku belajar menulis secara otodidak, diawali sejak sekolah dasar dan terus berlanjut hingga masa kuliah. Rupanya hobiku menulis yang diawali dari minat membacaku yang cukup tinggi membuatku tetap setia untuk terus berkarya dan menulis. Saat aku masih kuliah, aku sempat bergabung dengan teman-teman pers kampus di Universitas Brawijaya - Malang. Namun karena tugas-tugas kuliah yang begitu banyak menumpuk, terkadang aku kesulitan untuk menyalurkan hobi menulisku, dan akibatnya aku tidak terlalu serius dan konsen pada kegiatan pers kampus. Kalau dihitung-hitung, mungkin pada masa itu aku lebih dianggap sebagai seorang penggembira dan pencerah suasana, saat teman-temanku pada bete dan stress mengejar tenggat waktu tulisan dan masa terbitnya majalah kampus. Yah, namanya juga mahasiswa. Namun setelah lulus kuliah, aku kembali menekuni dunia tulis menulis, baik sebagai seorang penulis lepas dan terkadang menerima job menulis sebagai web content writer pada situs berbahasa Inggris, walaupun background pendidikanku adalah Agribisnis. Dan itu berlanjut terus hingga sekarang, aku terus menulis artikel dan juga kolom berita untuk berbagai media cetak dan internet. Aku juga sempat menulis buku,  dengan tema tanaman hias. Bukuku itu berjudul “Pachypodium - Panduan Lengkap Merawat dan Membudidayakan Pachypodium Anda agar Tumbuh Prima” dan diterbitkan oleh Penerbit PT. Gramedia Pustaka Utama. Hi, Greeting from Malang, East Java Province, Indonesia. My name is Haryo Bagus Handoko, I am a writer dan freelance journalist for many media and also online journalist in Indonesia. I start writing about anything since I was in elementary school and became more keen in writing when I was in University, studying Agribusiness. In that time, I keep writing and produce many articles and make journals whether for our University magazine (student press body) as well as for many media such as newspaper and magazines in Indonesia. At first, I like to write because I enjoy to read just about everything. Then, it turns out to be a habit or much like a hobby to me. If you read a lot, then you have many things in your head then sometimes it all need to be written or spoken, or just to share it with anyone, or at least sometimes you just want to make a point. Your imagination become more wild and wish to create more ideas, new things that need to be written, so in the end you can have such a great experience in writing process itself as well as in  knowing how people react about your writings. It’s cool and fun! When I was a student in University, I must say that in that time, I was a moody writer that sometimes just so lazy to produce more articles, but in the other day, I can be the enthusiast person that can produce more and more articles in one single  day.  I  joined university magazine (student press body/organization) in that time, for a simple cause: I just wanna have fun and great time hanging out and talk a lot, have  a little chat with my friends, that’s all! Remembering that time, I was just like an ice breaker or someone that keeping cheer my friends up when they all are getting so tense and cranky when the deadline is so short and we almost did not completed the magazine materials in the last moment. But fortunately, with all that kind of difficulty, we still have ideas, strong motivation and make a hardwork in the last minute, so the university magazine still be published on time! Well, since then I realize that to be punctual and make such a great writings, you should make strong efforts to make it happened. After I graduated from university, I still keen in make more articles and wish that someday I can be such a good writer. I work as freelance writer for many magazines, newspaper and sometimes become a web content writer for many website on the internet. Although my education background is majoring in Agribusiness, but I also write about anything, from technology, fiction, culinaire, health, nutrition, to write a poems/poetry. I still write and write until now and wish to keep writing activities as a habit and give my best in make more articles in many magazines, newspaper and I also wish to write more books. My first book about prehistoric plant, called Pachypodium have just been published in August 2008, with the title “Pachypodium - Panduan Lengkap Merawat dan Membudidayakan Pachypodium Anda agar Tumbuh Prima” (Pachypodium - Complete Guide to Nurture and Grow Your Pachypodium), published by PT. Gramedia Pustaka Utama (Indonesian book publisher).
